The comfrey leaf is the leaf of the comfrey plant (Symphytum officinale), a flowering perennial herb local to Europe and Asia but now naturalized in many parts of North America. It has a protracted record of use as a conventional medicinal drug, and became as soon as referred to as "knitbone" because of the notion that it may help heal broken bones.
