Buchu leaves are obtained from a flowering plant native to South Africa. Agathosma betulina and Agathosma crenulata are bushes that have been used in traditional South African medicine for millennia, primarily by the Khoisan and Xhosa peoples. The leaves are gathered and dried to make teas, tinctures, and poultices.
