Boneset is a member of the daisy family, Asteraceae. This plant is common throughout the world, growing in wetlands, marshes, and along shorelines from Florida to Canada and west to Texas and Nebraska. The plant is easily identified by its long, tapering leaves that converge around a single, sturdy stem, creating the appearance of a single, long leaf with the stem piercing it through the middle. Thus the term perfolia, which translates to "through the leaves."
